step-a-side offer

IBF light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi is schedule to fight IBO light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton. In an interview with Setanta Sports News during Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour, Malignaggi was quick to dismiss rumors that he had been offered 'step-a-side' money to make way for Manny Pacquiao to take on Hatton.

Malignaggi made it clear that Hatton was firmly in his sights. "I'm going to fight Ricky in the fall. It's an opportunity I've been waiting for. I think if I took step-a-side money I'd basically be selling out and not giving myself the opportunity I've always craved." Malignaggi stated.
 
In Malignaggi's last fight against Lovemore N'dou The Magic Man got a haircut during his fight, haircut similar to Brittany Spears but Malignaggi managed to pull out the win.
If I had to choose between Manny Pacquiao and Paulie Malignaggi to face the Hit Man I would rather see Pacquiao duke it out with Hatton, as both are brawlers. What's your opinion?

    I agree that Hatton Vs. Paquiao would be the better fight, and all us boxing fans do deserve to see the best fight's. On the other hand malignaggi has worked hard to get his shot and deserves it, let's not cheat him out of his spot.

      Oh come on, Malignaggi is ok he is not worth Hatton's time. That would be a f--ken boring ass fight. Malignaggi will fight and lose and then he will say" oh it was my hand, It really hasn't been the same since my last fight" He will come out with an excuse. He is an entertainer fighter. He needs to wait his turn, no one is cheating him, he just shouldn't be fighting Hatton.

      Oh no, he is not worth Hatton's time!! He is a joke. Malignaggi will not be cheated, it is just not his time. Manny on the other hand would be worth it. Malignaggi has a big mouth, he talks too much, he fights ok but he will get his ass kicked I hope he can back it up!

    I hear you all, Paulie is a mouth but at his finest he has world class speed. If he is healthy, he can provide an interesting fight with Hatton. Did you all see him fight Cotto? He almost knocked Cotto down late in that fight and he had a broken jaw!!! I am no fan but I do want to see Hatton and Malignaggi fight and I want to see Pac and Soto go at it. That would line up well for a Spring 09' fight between Pac and Hatton and I think the timing would be right.
